Advanced Pronunciation Skills

apply apply

This 8-week course teaches advanced pronunciation and speech modification techniques for intermediate and advanced non-native speakers of English. In this class, students study the keys to clear pronunciation: correct consonant and vowel sounds and American style stress, rhythm, intonation and pitch. To practice these elements, students complete weekly listening and recording assignments and receive personalized instructor feedback that identifies where they need improvement and how to develop strategies for change.

In this course, students will:

  • Learn the pronunciation, intonation, and stress patterns of standard American English
  • Practice techniques and strategies to make spoken English clearer and more effective
  • Build fluency and confidence in social and professional speaking situations
